Abastunagio originally appeared in the Italian romance, La Travola Ritonda.
He was the son of Galehaut and ruled over the Castle Ferelois, where he held a tournament during the Quest for the Holy Grail.
He is also sometimes known by the name Galehodin in French romances.
He first appeared in La Tavola Ritonda.
