The Freedon Nadd Uprising is shorter than the Graphic Novel that came before it, Knights of the Old Republic. However it is a lot better in quality, storyline, writing, and artwork. It is a marked improvement on it’s predecessor.
Being short it doesn’t require much of a review. Tom Weitch seems to have improved as a writer, or at least it doesn’t feel quite as rushed. It still suffers from an occasionally cheesy line, but the plot and writing have generally improved.
The artwork is still scattered and all over the place but it feels less rushed and the coloring is stronger which makes it easier to follow.
My general impression is that more time went into the preparation for this comic. Whether that’s true or not it is certainly a lot better than it’s predecessor though still not quite up to the calibre of comics that would follow.
Chronology Note: This comic takes place immediately after the previous graphic novel
