Asimov was himself a product of the Pulp Magazine craze, and largely considered to be one of its most important prodigies, especially in the genre of science fiction. It’s not surprising, therefore, that he created his own sci-fi magazine, one that continues to this day. Though a relatively late addition, and arguably not a “pulp” in the traditional sense, it’s still one of the more important contributions to the genre.
What is Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazine?
Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazine was started by Isaac Asimov in 1977, though he was never directly involved with many of the issues. However, since the name Asimov is almost synonymous with science fiction, it made sense to name a magazine after him.
The magazine is still operating today, though the frequency of issues has decreased. It is still considered one of the more prestigeous magazines for science fiction, with multiple Hugo awards and other honors. Many authors still find their breakout opportunity when accepted.
What’s in this List of Asimov’s Science Fiction Magazines?
This list contains every issue of Asimov’s Science Fiction that has ever been published from 1977 onward. However, in some cases, details are scant, and all we have is the issue volume, number, and release date. Wherever possible, we’ve collected as many PDF scans of the issues that we can. If you don’t see a PDF here, that likely means that we were unable to find it online. As we find more resources with more information on the different issues out there, we will include them here.
And if you have more information about this magazine or other pulp magazines, be sure to let us know and we can update the page accordingly. And don’t forget to check out our Pulp Magazine Central Hub. Thank you for visiting!
