Argosy Magazine is said to be the first of the pulp magazines, the one that launched a trend. For decades, it was the leading publication in the industry, considered one of the big four. This is the list of Argosy Magazine issues.
What is Argosy Magazine?
Argosy Magazine was founded in 1882 by Frank Munsey, however, it wasn’t until 1896 that the first all-fiction issue was published. This is largely considered to be the start of the pulp fiction era, and that is also where this timeline begins. We do not include issues prior to 1896.
The magazine lasted a long time, eventually dying off in the 70s, though there have been a few attempts to revive it.
What’s in this List of Argosy Magazines?
This list contains every issue of Argosy Magazzine that has ever been published from 1896 onward. However, in some cases, details are scant, and all we have is the issue volume, number, and release date. Wherever possible, we’ve collected as many PDF scans of the issues that we can. If you don’t see a PDF here, that likely means that we were unable to find it online. As we find more resources with more information on the different issues out there, we will include them here.
And if you have more information about this magazine or other pulp magazines, be sure to let us know and we can update the page accordingly. And don’t forget to check out our Pulp Magazine Central Hub. Thank you for visiting!
